Scroll down the page to download the free version for your operating system. I absolutely cannot find the Slate listed in Device Manager, and I also connected it to my Mac instead and ran a lsusb command but could not find it connected there either. Download the installer file for the latest free version of DesktopServer (currently 3.9.4), and save the file to your computer. I downloaded what I think is the correct driver (any help with locating this to validate?), and the instructions I could find online tell me to open my device manager and look for my Slate, and I can install the driver that way This steers me towards (along with a DeskDock prompt) checking out the drivers to see if they're installed/updated. When I do get this to work (seemingly by luck after trying try to kill-server/start-server a few times), I try to detect devices in ADB with " devices" command-line, but get a blank "List of devices attached". I do not even have to touch my phone as it just sits there on its kickstand and my keyboard and mouse on my laptop can have full control over my device. I haven't tried the other features such as screenshot sharing and stuff, but for my usecase it works perfect. With deskdock I am able to use my trackpad as a cursor on my fold, and I am also able to type with the keyboard. I no longer have to bring my portable monitor with me, and now instead my phone can act as a second monitor. I loved windows phone, but wished there was a way for me to use my keyboard and mouse on my laptop, as a keyboard and mouse on my phone. Then I found the app deskdock, and I am pretty impressed. It was great but it was annoying to have to use the touchscreen instead of my trackpad. Originally I found a remote keyboard app that uses putty to allow me to use my keyboard on my laptop as a keyboard on my fold over wifi. I found them to be a little expensive, so instead tried to look for a way I could just bring my laptop and then instead of my portable monitor, use my fold as a secondary display. I was looking into purchasing a mini keyboard for the fold so I could use it on the go with my portable monitor instead of my laptop.
